We are looking for one or two new projects to take on and develop, with an aim to later producing or co-producing its full production.  

We're accepting full scripts or proposals, from both individual artists and other emerging companies who are interested in working with us.

We currently have the capacity to take on one or two new projects for development, with a view to later producing or co-producing its full production. This call-out is open to both individual artists who would be interested in us producing their play/idea and to other emerging companies who would be interested in partnering with us on a co-production.    

What can you send us? You can send us a full script or a proposal at the idea stage. 
  • Full scripts - This can be as rough or as polished as you like! First drafts welcome. 
  • Proposals - This is a brief outline of your idea and how you hope to develop it. We welcome ideas for new devised work as well as scripted plays. You can accompany your proposal with up to 3 x supporting documents, but this is optional.
What can we offer? To be fully transparent, we are an emerging company with very limited individual resources. We rely on supports/programming from theatres/funding bodies in order to develop and produce the work we want to make, and we don't have immediate funds to offer an artist a commissioning fee. However, what we are offering is...
  • Commitment to work with an artist/company over time to develop their script/idea with a view to us producing (or co-producing) it. This might include, but is not limited to: applying for funding to develop the script/idea, giving our time in-kind, providing feedback, working with you to put together a team and cast, workshopping and table-reads, strategic planning, approaching potential venues/festivals, unbridled enthusiasm and applying for production funding. 
  • Reading and/or Workshopping with Anseo Anois Theatre. We may offer this to a small number of the plays/ideas that we love but aren't able to commit to on the same scale as the above. This will be an offer of our time in-kind and a commitment to organise space, time and actors for a reading and/or workshopping session which will include discussion and feedback on your idea. 
What kind of work are we looking for? We describe our work as curious, contemporary and character-driven. To us, this means work which puts complex, multi-dimensional characters at its centre and engages with themes and issues relevant to modern society; stories told through a lens of curiosity, which explore compelling questions without necessarily seeking to provide the answers.
